Yesterday I played a gig at private party in Wrocław (formerly known as Breslau) in Poland.
Similar to my first gig in Mexico, I used playback files prepared for this purpose without lead vocals and sang live to them. My ten minute gig was part of a concert evening with five other acts in a loft in one of Wrocław’s main party areas. Around one hundred people showed up for it.
The audience seemed to like it, people clapped their hands, screamed and sang along. It was a great experience for me! Whereas in Mexico the audience consisted of my friends, this time I knew only a few people in the crowd, so it was a much more realistic test for my music.
Some people filmed my gig with their mobile devices and shared their footage with me. I edited the short clip shown above out of it. The quality is not the best, but you get an idea of the atmosphere.
One of the songs I performed was Live Now!, which I published on April 30th. The audience loved it, and it has been showing good results online.
Its music video already has more than 64,000 views on YouTube in 10 days – our monthly target was 25,000! On Spotify Live Now! so far has around 11,000 streams, and I expect it to grow, as it is slowly being picked up by curators of popular playlists.
I also met a flute player from the amazing Polish band that played after me, and I ask her to play on my Bossa Nova song ‘Music is Magic’. All in all, it was a successful and enjoyable evening!
