My latest single is a danceable ska track that plays with all sorts of absurd imagery from quantum physics, whilst its chorus is pure Buddhism: “All you see is your reflection, you shape the world with every action.” 

You might have noticed that I really like these topics. And it is also no surprise that I love Ska. I grew up with the British ska revival, spearheaded by bands like The Specials and The Selecter – they were some of the first bands I ever saw live.

The song’s live premiere took place in March 2025 at the Salon de Ska in Tokyo, where I performed alongside several Japanese ska bands. Among them was Beatbahnhof (yes, they have a German name!), who also appears  in the music video, which was filmed on the same day at the School Club Tokyo.

I had no idea there was such a vibrant ska scene in Japan with so many great bands! Beatbahnhof only mimicked the song we’d recorded with my band in Spain, but they did a brilliant job of it. Howeve, we did perform one song together: the Ska classic Monkey Men (see video below). It wss great fun to I perform in Tokyo and I am looking forward to my next gig there!
