My new single ‘Music is Magic’ has been released. Here is the music video:

This song tells the story of how it came to be. I first wrote it when I was 25, after a year studying in Brazil, where I had learnt many bossa nova classics. I was sad because of an unfulfilled love, but all my sadness was blown away when I wrote this song.

When I started my Mindful Music series I thought to include this old song with new lyrics, but it was never recorded and all written notes of it were lost. I couldn’t remember the song’s many jazzy chords – but they were miraculously stored in my hands!

That was another magical moment. First the song healed my sadness and then it came back decades later when I switched off my conscious mind. So I wrote new lyrics about these fascinating experiences with music.

The song was produced by Victoria Villanueva in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. She also sang backing vocals, programmed the drums and played bass guitar. The percussion instruments were played by Carlos Cortés Bustamante in Málaga. Nicolás Soto Lopez added a beautiful piano.

The music video was shot at Coco Beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico by Nika Frolova and Luis Corona and edited by me.
